Great printer overall. But, the software intallation was a pain and takes way too much space. Just a simple driver installation option should be available.

The HP Photosmart printer does a beautiful job of printing my digital pictures. It is simple to use and to change the ink cartridges. It does seem rather noisy when printing but does a beautiful job. The colors are so very rich. It is a great value for the money.

needed cd printing - printed probably 75 images on CDs and still have 50% of the black and 75% of the color ink!

I purchased this printer mainly for the direct to CD printing. There are only a few CD printers to choose from and the older HP I had (struck by lightning) was very good at that. I am shocked at how quickly this printer consumes ink cartridges. The initial set started to show empty after a few weeks of use. We only use this printer for color and a Brothers laserwriter for 90% of our printing. I just replaced the cartridges after Christmas and 2 are already showing empty. At this rate this printer will be consuming $600/ year in ink. Definitely won't be buying HP again.

I love canon printers as I have a Mac and the Canon cameras and printers are compatible and don't give me any problems. My previous printer, a Canon iP3500, was getting old and the colors were not true anymore. This one was an upgrade and I can also view my pictures directly from my camera. However, I prefer to use iPhoto after my pictures are downloaded, but either way, it works just as well. The pictures I printed so far are just as good as the CVS ones I got. Could not tell the difference side by side. I'm very happy with my purchase.
